Frequently Asked Questions
Your Questions, Answered
Can you customize a machine specifically for our part design or assembly process?
Yes. At our core, this is what we do. We design and build custom equipment. Our systems are built around your components. We do not have a standard machine chassis or footprint. This allows us to customize all aspects of the equipment to the specific needs of each part design.
Do you offer installation, commissioning, and ongoing support after machine delivery?
Yes. We support our machines through their entire lifecycle. We still support equipment that we built in the early 1990's that still runs today. We offer installation, training, and commissioning as standards in our quotations. Reach out today for a quote!
Can you work with international customers and handle export logistics?
Yes, we can. We have worked with several international companies that resulted in extremely successful machine installations. We utilize logistics partners for crating, certification, shipping, etc. to deliver anywhere in the world.
What kinds of safety features are integrated into your machines?
Our systems our built to the highest OSHA and ISO standards for safety. Typically, we use fixed barrier guarding and solenoid locking guard switches where applicable. We have experience with all automation safety style devices and work with our customers to find the best fit for them.
What warranty coverage comes with your machines and systems?
Our standard warranty is 1 year on all tooling and mechanical build items. We pass along all manufacturer's warrantees on all purchased items, which in general range from 1-3 years.
Can Schaffer Automation retrofit or upgrade our existing legacy equipment?
Yes. When product life cycles slow down and run their course, we have found that retrofitting existing equipment to run new products can offer a very cost-effective solution to our customers.
We also offer quoting the contract manufacturing of customers "hard to manage" assembly opportunities. Our team is very experienced in assembly production and quality control, and we are willing to work with other OEM's equipment.
Do you provide virtual demos or simulations before finalizing the design?
Yes. We do this in finalizing designs and quoting. When quoting, our team goes through the required testing and planning to ensure our concepts, quality, and output rates are met and exceeded. To do this, we run simulations, build test tooling, and develop solid models.
How scalable are your systems for future production growth?
We take future product growth into consideration and often times design in consideration for this when approaching an opportunity. Depending on customer needs, this is something we offer.
